Hull Strength to Change

Crossroads programme

Crossroads is a joint venture between ReNew and Strength to Change, the Domestic Abuse perpetrator service in Hull.

It delivers a 6-month-long programme of content to men aged 18 and over to support them in addressing substance misuse and abusive behaviour, in a group (or, with appropriate exception, 1-1) setting consisting of 26 weekly sessions divided into 6 modules, which will focus on different areas of domestic abuse and substance misuse.

Crossroads' overall aim is to safeguard victims of DA, women and children. The programme also has a partner service that supports the partners and ex-partners of men accessing Crossroads, which can continue even if the perpetrator disengages from the service.

The course content is a mixture of behaviour change work, psychoeducation, emotional regulation, and support around the substance treatment plans, with an overall aim of harm reduction and protection of women and children by providing tools and techniques which reduce or remove abusive behaviour.

Crossroads can be accessed by any male aged 18 and over who wants to address their substance use and domestic abuse in either a current or previous relationship.
